Morgenstern Pot

  • Built, tuned, and confirmed by master call maker Steve Morgenstern. Turkey hunters have always expected the most authentic natural sounds from their calls, so we partnered with award winning competitive caller and call builder Steve Morgenstern. While building these “small batch” pot calls, no shortcuts are taken. Steve painstakingly assembles each call in his Kirksville Missouri shop, assuring the kind of quality he can proudly put his name on.

    We asked Steve for some advice on sourcing materials to build a pot call he recommended tired-and-true gray slate and Mulberry wood. Mulberry wood is best known for being a dense hardwood with a unique yellow hue, combined with gray slate, this call is sure to perform flawlessly. Built to enhance the calling experience for all abilities, this easy-to-use call will have you making soft purrs and loud raspy yelps with ease. Steve uses a proprietary method that he has developed building custom calls for nearly 18 years. Paired with a laminated wood striker, the sounds from these calls are sure to bring in the wisest old gobble.

  • This call was designed to put down toms or put them in a coffin, so to speak! This handcrafted turkey box call features a dense Brazilian walnut paddle over a resonant poplar body, producing crisp, high-pitched yelps with a natural raspy rollover. Designed for versatility, it excels at long-range locating with sharp, cutting tones while remaining subtle enough for close-in work. The combination of Brazilian walnut's density and poplar’s resonance ensures rich, lifelike vocalizations, making it an essential tool for getting a turkey to respond and calling in even the wariest gobblers.
