The Akern Grunt-n-Bleat is THE deer hunter’s call, combining the whitetails’ two most used vocalizations into one call. Clay Newcomb loves hunting the pre-rut when the Akerns (acorns) are falling and deer are in the timber. Carrying a bleat call/can and a grunt call can be cumbersome, so he wanted to simplify his whitetail kit with a two-in-one call for soft, sexy bleats and realistic, thunderous grunts. During early-season and pre-rut, does are very receptive to being called in with bleats and bucks are often close in tow. With the small batch, inhale-exhale Akern Grunter, you can challenge a rutty buck with grunts or call in a doe with soft bleat. If you can only pack one deer call to your stand, this is it!

The Akern Grunter allows you to tune two different tone boards to your preference. Grunt/Grunt, Grunt/Bleat, Bleat/Bleat, etc....Then you can decide if you want to exhale or inhale to operate the call. Our unique bypass design lets you run this small batch call how you want.

Horrible Customer Service - Misleading Packaging

I purchased this call and quite frankly I can not say anything about the call, per se. On the back of the packaging it states that for complete detailed instructions use the QR code on the package. I did exactly that! There are NO instructions. If you want Elk instructions - there are plenty. But the deer page you get states ""Coming Soon"". Well over a week ago I had a text Chat on the Phelps website with customer service about this and I was told they would send me links to instructions. I also spoke to someone through the customer service number and he said he would send instructions to me. NEVER GOT ANYTHING. And it did not go to junk mail. In short, the package is misleading and the customer service horrible.

Great call, better company.

The call sounds great and produces results. One of the Oak barrels got loose with the cold weather. I reached out and within an hour new, bigger O-Rings were in the mail to replace the old. 10/5 stars

Awesome call!

Great, well made, easy to use call. This call is awesome! I love having both a bleat and grunt call in one so I don't need to keep track of multiple calls. The inhale/exhale works great and sounds great!
