Built, tuned, and confirmed by master call maker Steve Morgenstern using a proprietary method that he has developed building custom calls for nearly 18 years. While building these “small batch” pot calls, no shortcuts are taken. Steve painstakingly assembles each call in his Kirksville Missouri shop, assuring the kind of quality he can proudly put his name on.

When we asked Steve for some advice on sourcing materials to build a pot call that plays like no other slate call, he recommended red slate and Bubinga wood. Red slate has a similar hardness to crystal but plays close to traditional grey slate. When combined with African Bubinga wood, we harness its durability and complement the overall beauty while producing authentic hen sounds. This call is built to enhance the calling experience for all abilities, with great raspiness and sharpness. Paired with a laminated wood striker, the sounds from these calls are sure to bring in the wisest old gobbler.
