If you like your hen to sound like the Ol' Boss Hen these will have all the rasp you need.

Sassy Split-V: The sassy split V is a 3 reed call with a shortened V-cut. The shorter cut gives a sharper/crisper raspy tone which is perfect in producing those loud cutts and yelps of a mature hen turkey.

Green Viper: The Green Viper call is a 3 reed call with a snake tongue combo cut which makes it great for producing; raspy yelps, hard cutts, and kee kees, as well as being soft enough on the off side of the snake tongue to produce soft clucks and purrs.

Black Bat: The Black Bat diaphragm call features an easy to control batwing cut. This call produces medium rasp yelps when played to either side. When played down the middle the rasp picks up and the call can mimic an older hen.

OK but not great

Of the 3 the sassy v is the only one that made it in my vest and its only getting used for soft quiet yelps. The green viper and the black bat are both really flat sounding. Could be me could be the call but I can't get them to sound right. I usually use woodhaven calls and compared to them it seems like the latex is way looser or softer on the phelps calls. They would be great calls to learn on but compared to what I'm used to they just don't have much on high or low end and when I do try and crank on em the rasp just sounds unnatural. To sum it up they are ok and probably good for someone to learn on since they take such little air to play but if you want to make sounds like your filming a turkey porno or just sound like a real turkey... they ain't it.

Nothing crazy special about them. They are high quality have a good feel and didn't take long to break in.

Highly recommend Phelps game calls!

These reeds work really great! Best ones I have used since I started calling with mouth reeds. Can create all the calls I am capable of making. Called on in for a buddy!
